Most excellent news, film fans - apparently there will be a third Bill and Ted movie!

Keanu Reeves, who played 'Ted' Theodore Logan in the 1989 and 1991 blockbusters, told MTV in the US that the project is going ahead as rumoured and that the creators may be just six weeks away from having a workable script ready.

He even gave a hint as to what the plot might entail, pointing out that the last time we saw them, Bill and Ted had been trying to write a song that would save the world.

"So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back," the 46-year-old explained, before tailing off tantalisingly.

He didn't reveal whether or not Alex Winter would return as Bill S Preston, Esquire, but surely the movie wouldn't be right without him?

It will be interesting to see what the teenage slackers will have turned into by the time we see them again.

During their last outing, Bogus Journey, they got killed by robots, met the Grim Reaper in Hell and beat him at Twister before finally taking him on stage with the Wyld Stallyns to win a battle of the bands contest.
