- Bottom Line: Oddly, I purchased the cape to wear as Little Dead Riding hood. I couldn't find an appropriate red cape that I liked, so I inverted the cape and wore the red satin on the outside. It gave a wonderful effect to have the black velvet fabric act as the lining as my dress was black with red accents. The cape was assembled well enough that it was reversible without having many odd seams. I will say that it is sewn for someone with narrower shoulders, but it didn't look awkward (despite not being a perfect fit. ) I think the quality was good for the price and by being reservable it is much more versatile for future Halloween outfits. It is warm enough to replace a coat when outdoors but being double layered it is probably to thick to wear indoors for a whole evening.
